The Adria Security Summit 2026 will welcome Boris Popović, Founder and CEO of Alarm automatika, as one of its keynote speakers, presenting a session titled “The New Era of Security: Creative Applications and Business Process Optimization.”
Taking place on October 7–8 at Zagreb Fair in Croatia, the Adria Security Summit brings together manufacturers, system integrators, distributors, consultants, end users, and public-sector representatives to explore the technologies and trends shaping the future of security.
In his keynote, Popović will examine how rapid advances in the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and system interoperability are transforming the role of security technologies. Once focused primarily on protecting people and property, modern security systems are increasingly becoming platforms that support wider business operations and organizational efficiency.
Drawing on practical examples from real-world deployments, the presentation will demonstrate how technologies such as intelligent video surveillance, access control, and integrated security platforms are being used beyond their traditional purpose. Applications now extend to energy and water management, traffic and parking optimization, automated ticketing, and other operational processes that help organizations improve efficiency while generating greater value from existing infrastructure.
The session will also explore the growing importance of creativity in solution design, showing how security professionals can combine multiple technologies into unified ecosystems that deliver both enhanced protection and measurable business outcomes. Attendees will gain insights into emerging industry trends and practical strategies for expanding the role of security systems within modern organizations.
Popović founded Alarm automatika while studying at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb and later completed postgraduate studies in management at IEDC Bled School of Management. Today, he oversees the company’s operations across 11 countries, leading more than 250 employees and managing annual revenues exceeding €50 million. Throughout his career, he has authored and co-authored numerous professional publications, spoken at international conferences, and contributed to the development of security projects across Southeast Europe.
The keynote is part of the Adria Security Summit’s conference program, which brings together leading industry experts to discuss the technologies, strategies, and market trends driving the next generation of security and smart infrastructure.
